Unchanged through the centuries

“Indeed, it is We who sent down the Quran and indeed, We will be its guardian.” (Quran, Surah Al-Hijr, Ayah 9)

The Quran is the last of all the scared scriptures that Allah (SWT) sent to mankind as mercy guidance. Before the Quran, the Allah revealed the Tawrat (Torah) to Prophet Musa (Moses) (A.S), Zabur (Psalms) to Prophet Dawud (David) (A.S) and Ingeel (Bible) to Prophet Isa (Jesus Christ) (A.S). These were the books of Allah and were sent down to mankind, but as the years passed, each of the holy scriptures was changed and distorted and the word of man became mingled with the word of Allah thus leading mankind astray again. With the emergence of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), Allah (SWT) revealed His final message to mankind, the Quran and as mentioned in the Ayah, Allah (SWT) Himself guards the Quran from any changes by man. Since its reveal more than 1400 years ago, the Quran is still unchanged and will remain unchanged even to the last day. Though it is a firm belief among the Muslims, there are those who raise the question on how the Quran has remained unchanged and unaltered. One of the most obvious reasons that the Quran remains unaltered is because of the special gift Allah bestows upon those of His followers that strive to learn the Quran is the ability to memorize the holy scripture. The concept of memorizing the Quran began soon after it was revealed as the companions of the prophet used to learn and memorize. This practice is still active today for there are thousands of Muslims all over the world who strive to learn and memorize the Quran.

There is a new type of education system that has become increasingly popular in the last decade due to the convenience it provides the student. This is online education and just as there are schools that now provide online Islamic education, there are those who provide online Quran memorization courses to those who wish to preserve the holy book within them but lack the facilities or live in areas where there are no institutes or religious centers around. With the availability of online quran memorization course, people can now memorize the Quran from their homes.

It is part of the Muslim doctrine to first and foremost consult the Quran for the answer to any type of problem. After the Quran, the most authentic source of information and guidance to a Muslim are the sayings of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW). There are many problems about society, wealth and even a person whose answer can be found in the teachings of the prophet. There are a number of online schools today that have introduced and implemented quran memorization course online in their curriculum. For people who want to learn about the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and do in an in depth study about the doctrines of Islam can now simply enroll in a hadith course online and learn at their convenience.
