Learn Quran with Tajweed
“Alif, Lam, Ra. These are the verses of the clear Book O Indeed, We have sent it down as an Arabic Qur'an that you might understand O” (Qur’an: Surah Yusuf 12 Ayah 1-2)
Prophet Muhammad (SAW) was the last messenger that Allah (SWT) appointed to guide humanity. Unlike His predecessors who were sent to guide a specific nation or tribe, Prophet Muhammad (SAW) was sent as a mercy towards the entire human race. To Prophet Muhammad (SAW), Allah (SWT) gave the greatest miracle, the last Holy Scripture the Quran. Since Prophet Muhammad (SAW) was an Arab, the Quran was revealed to Him in the Arabic language. To the people of Arabia, learning and reading the Quran was never a problem, at it is not till this day since it was revealed in their own language. However as Islam began to spread and more non-Arab people began to embrace it, there arose a need to teach the non-Arab Muslims the true way to recite the Quran. Arabic is a very delicate language in the sense that the meaning of a word can change according to how it is pronounced. The process of reciting the Quran with all of it accurate linguistic and grammatical rules is called Tajweed.
Quran Tajweed classes are especially designed to teach people how to read the Quran with the correct pronunciation and to follow its grammar rules. Scholars are adamant and encourage people to learn Quran with tajweed for as mentioned before, in Arabic a single word can have multiple meanings depending on the way it is pronounced. Anyone can learn basic Arabic and attempt to read the Quran but it is highly advised that people also learn Tajweed in the process. In the old days, non-Arab Muslims especially in western countries were severely deprived of facilities and opportunities where they could learn the correct manner to recite the Quran. This all changed with the advent of online education, and by utilizing this new mode of learning many Muslims have established online schools that provide almost every type of courses that one can find at the Islamic center or mosques including online tajweed classes.
Online classes have many benefits over attending a regular institute, the biggest being any student can schedule their classes according to their own time table allowing them to find balance between their busy lives and learning. Islamic online education enables a person to have direct contact with a learned scholar who can teach and answer every kind of question that can arise in the students mind about Islam and can provide guidance. Tajweed is highly important when it comes to learning the Quran and is an obligation of a Muslim towards the word of Allah (SWT).
